School Students Honoured for Winning Drawing Contest of ‘Rio Conventions’ Project

Minister of Environment Nayef Hmeidi Al-Fayez and UNDP Jordan Country Director Sara Ferrer Olivella awarded 12 school students whose drawings were selected as the most creative from among more than 430 drawings submitted to the “Environment Knows No Boundaries” contest. 

The contest was organized between November 2017 and March 2018 by “Rio Conventions in the Development Sectors” project that is implemented by the Ministry of Environment, funded by Global Environment Facility [GEF] and supported by UNDP-Jordan, and was open to three age groups as follows: 6-10, 11-13 and 14-16 years-old students, aiming at raising awareness on different national and global environmental issues. The Awards Ceremony was held on Sunday May 13, 2018 at The Children Museum in Amman and was sponsored by private sector company Zain Telecom Jordan.
