Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Youth

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the Ministry of Youth. The MOU launches a joint partnership to support youth leadership in preventing violent extremism and to enhance community stability.

 

This partnership aims to pave the ground for bilateral cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Youth & UNDP, by supporting the Government of Jordan in its efforts in preventing violent extremism and enhancing community stability with a special focus on the role of the Ministry of Youth and its centers to become axis at youth empowerment in local communities.

 

The agreement also includes activities to increase participation of youth in civic life, enhance democratic process among youth, and develop a generation of active leader in their communities.

 

The project, which is for one year, is jointly funded by UNDP & the Government of Japan, and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan.

 

This MOU between Ministry of Youth and UNDP comes under the project titled “Support to Counter-terrorism, Stabilization, and Counter-Radicalization in Jordan” with the overall objective of “strengthening national efforts in reducing the threat of terrorism and radicalization, especially among youth and vulnerable marginalized societal groups, to ensure the continued stabilization of Jordan”.
