Jordanian Prime Minister Patronizes UNDP Celebration for the 50th AnniversaryMar 29, 2016
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, patronized UNDP50 celebrations official event, in which the prime minister highlighted the great role UNDP is playing to support the countries in human development issues & mtigating the effect of the crisis on teh host communities. He also said that UNDP was one of the agencies which were considered as main partner to the government in its development process since it was etablished in Jordan in 1976.
Edward Kallon, UN Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator & UNDP Resident Representative said that the UNDP continues to support Jordan to improve governance, rule of law and women empowerment, and will also assist the Kingdom in attracting and managing development finance from vertical funds and international financial institutions to allow the growth of a dynamic private sector.
In her speech, UNDP Country Director Zena Ali Ahmad said that UNDP will focus in the upcoming years on supporting the implementation of the international development agenda known as the Global Goals, and integrate it into national plans and development strategies.
During the event which was attended by Ministers, Ambassadors, donors & partners; UNDP acknowledged the support and partnership of the main donors including the private sector, by distributing a thank you trophies.
