UNDP Jordan Kicks off the UNDP50 Celebrations by Meeting the Media

UNDP Jordan joined the world celebrating UNDP 50th anniversary by organizing a meeting with the main media outlets in Jordan to brief them on UNDP main area of work & focus.

The CD started the meeting by telling the journalists the story of UNDP which was established in 1966, to work in eradicating poverty, reducing inequality, and helping states develop policies and institutional capabilities. UNDP is in more than 120 countries to help achieving the national priorities.

The CD highlighted that UNDP Jordan is also celebrating its 40th year serving Jordan with the focus of  three main areas which are; Sustainable development Pathways, Inclusive and effective Democratic Governance and Resilience Building. 

Ms. Ahmad also shared with the reporters latest info graphs & facts regarding the support UNDP is doing to the host communities, for ex. e 600 micro projects were established — of which 240 are led by women —1,800 job opportunities were created and targeted 12,000 beneficiaries through training and support in regions hit-hard by the Syrian influx.
