As part of the “Enhancing community security and access to justice in host communities and other fragile areas in Jordan” project; UNDP in close cooperation with the  Jordanian Ministry of Justice organized a two-days specialized training on Mediation entitled “Mediation: Strategic Conflict Management for Professionals”.

The training focused on mediation and alternative dispute resolutions targeting a number of practitioners from different sectors; including judges, lawyers, bankers, chamber of commerce, chamber of industry, insurance companies and civil society representatives.

Under South-South cooperation, the training workshop was followed with an informative session and discussion done by top notch experts from the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) and the Singapore Ministry of Law. The interactive discussion highlighted success and best practices in the area of Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolutions in Singapore.

This sharing experience practices is very important to Jordan which is underway developing a new Mediation legislation and an independent mediation centres in the Kingdom.
