    Graduation Ceremony for the trainees of the Youth Employment Generation Programme

    nder the patronage of the Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, The United Nations Development Programme organized a graduation ceremony for the second group of trainees of the “Youth Employment Generation Programme in Arab Transition Countries - Jordan Component” funded by the Government of Japan, on Wednesday 13th February 2013 at the Al Hussein Youth City.

    United Nations Global Compact Awareness Workshop

    A Global Compact Awareness Seminar was held on Monday, December 19th at UNDP premises. Ms. Majida Al Assaf, the poverty Analyst at the UNDP gave the opening speech and Mr. Walid Naji, the Regional Network Manager - MENA and Europe at the Global Compact office, presented the attendees with an overview of the initiative and how different entities: private sector, civil society, educational institutions can be part of this global initiative .In addition he gave a session on reporting and the main topics for presenting a Communication on Progress report. Current members in the local network also gave presentations; Mr. Raji Hattar the Chief Sustainability & Compliance Officer at Aramex gave a presentation on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), its role in supporting development in the country. Ms.Yasmeen Al Habra from Naouri Group gave a presentation on Naouri Group achievements regarding the Global Compact and their activities as members. With more than 5,200 participating businesses in over than 130 countries, the Global Compact is the world’s largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative. There are currently 32 members from Jordan including leading companies such as Aramex, Naouri Group, Jordan Aviation, Royal Jordanian, Idea JWT and others
